Submission to Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect & Exploitation of People with Disability
The Leadership Plus submission to the Disability Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability is informed by our knowledge and experience of providing independent advocacy, personal development and capacity building to people living with ABI over four decades and the collective knowledge and experience of individual advocates across a number of independent disability advocacy agencies in Australia.
The content of this submission also draws on the lived experience of people with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). Leadership Plus organised and facilitated four workshops with people with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) to assist the commission understand their experiences and what they thought the Disability Royal Commission on Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disabilities (DRC) should know. The report Hear My Voice, developed by Leadership Plus based on these workshops is submitted as an accompanying document to this submission called Hear My Voice and should be read alongside positions outlined in the submission.
